chapter v: first day in the hospital

Ok. Today is the day. Exactly 2 weeks ago to the hour my life was totally normal except for a weird annoying lump in my throat. Fast forward to today and I’m at The James at Ohio State and about to begin chemo very soon (kicking things off right with a “lumbar puncture” aka spinal tap - sounds awesome). It’s been an insane whirlwind these last 2 weeks to say the least. The texts, calls, and prayers have meant the world to us. Thank you thank you thank you.

We think we’ll be here for 4-5 days for this first round of chemo. If you haven’t read our blog yet to hear the story up to this point, the link is in our bio. Keep praying friends! We truly believe it works!

Genesis 50:20

PS - the view out our window is an awesome view of OSU’s campus. For 6 years I have had the privilege of going to this place with the good news of the gospel. We often talk about that news as being a cure for the disease of sin we all have. Well now it’s my turn to be the one getting cured at this place. Kind of beautiful to think about. Also, The James has been here the whole time - one of the best cancer research hospitals in the world. What if I had been leading @ylcollegeanduniversity somewhere else? It’s almost like there’s been a beautiful plan amidst all the mess this whole time. Who knew when we moved here 6 years ago that I would be the one needing this place. I think someone did.
